Alpine HU/HUD Install complete
At least for now... Everything is installed, HUD, Alpine HU, PPI & Rockford Amps, MB Quart Speakers and JL Sub. Only a couple of issues to iron out.
1. HUD works just fine until I turn my headlights on, then HUD turns off.
2. Blinkers and turn signals are not working
3. Cluster keeps reading "doors ajar"
4. Interior lights will stay on while I am driving the car. I cannot turn them off with the dimmer switch. They do turn off when it is parked.
5. Rockford Fosgate amp gets very hot to the point that it will play for several minutes, cut out and then play again. I touched it and it felt like a hot iron!
Other than that, all is well.
I ended up removing an aftermarket alarm that had been installed, and I am most certain that I screwed something up while removing it. I started from the alarm control module and removed all of the wires that were connected to it. Wherever there were splices, I taped them up. I thought it was a rather clean extraction, but I guess I was wrong. Any ideas? I am trying to find a schematic of the alarm system so that I can retrace what I yanked out.

I had the same problem with a RF amp. You are going to have to not put it under the mat or put some computer fans on it to actively cool it or buy a more expensive amp. When I did mine I tried to put it behind a false wall on the back wall of the trunk, I ended up putting 4 60mm fans into the sides of the false wall and I did not have overheating issues unless I had it cranked to the max for more than 30 minutes.
