yes but it will require some significant additions, an additional amp will definitely be needed, it is possible to tap into preamp outs on the back of the radio and use those as your lo input to your amp, but not really sure why you would want to, the bose ( also known as BLOWS ) system is not very good. unless you want that factory look if this is the case let me know and i'll post the factory radio pin out and let you know which wires to tap into
I also have a 94 non bose. I want to gut the entire thing and upgrade. Is there a thread with the necessary details? How difficult is it..Can it be done in an afternoon etc...and special wiring needed? I have the faceplate adapter and new HU. Little apprehensive about tearing it up and finding out I don't have everything necessary. I'm in Italy and have to order all parts etc...from the states.
The head unit is a dummy... the key to bose isn't the CD head unit, it's the receiver module (under the dash on some years, in the rear compartment in others).
after studying the Helm manual, I can state, with near 100% certainty, that a "Bose" CD head unit will work fine with a non-bose system.
It does not require the amps... it does not require a different receiver.
Why GM didn't put the CD in on Delco systems strikes me as pure marketing and perhaps, a Bose restriction that CD be a bose only thing. I donno.
Go for it. It should work just fine. Plug and play.
Thanks Bogus...Do you know if there an old thread that has the procedures for replacing the H/U with an aftermarket for a 94 non bose...From reading the posts I see that I only have to disconnect and bypass the receiver in the back... I have searched and cannot find one with detailed instructions...
