Default MB Quart? JL Audio? Phoenix Gold?

I've been out of the audio seen for so long I don't know what is good anymore. I'm thinking of going this way.

H/U - Avic 1 or 2

Components - MB Quart QSD 213 for the rear and maybe the 6.50 QSDs for the fronts.

Woofer - 10w7 (is this a good choice?)

Amps - JL 500.1 for woofer, not sure what kind for the components.

Am I on to something here? Are there better things out there? Are these trash? Should I have two sets of components?

Thanks for any help

Default all a matter of taste

Depends on what you are looking for sound. To some people that set up would be a great sounding system, others would talk trash of it. There is alot of loyalties to brand names when true differences in sound is very marginal at best. If you are going for sound quality i would say you have a pretty good start. There is better but there is always better for normally alot more money. i will give you alittle break down and maybe it will help you make you chioce alittle easier.
MB Quart- sold to Rockford Fosgate almost two years ago. they have changed nothing with R&D over that time frame but have made things cheaper to cut cost. Still a decent speaker no matter how you slice it
JL Audio- they only make their own drivers, their subs are very hard to beat but it can be done for less money and a smaller box. Anything W7 truthfully requires a larger box than their specs call for unless ported.
Thier amps are made in Korea and can have problems, along with their midbass. Their true aluminum tweeters are made in india i believe.
longstory i think you can do better for less money but if you choose not to you still have a great system either way. hope that helps

Thank you very much for that info! I am not looking to just spend money I don't have. The system I am looking for is very loud and very crisp with hard hitting bass. I am not really looking for the long drawn out "club music" souding bass. I want hard, knock a filling out, crisp and clear sound.

The best sounding system I ever owned was in an Eclipse. The car has amazing acoustics and I acheived it with a Sony h/u, Punch components, Punch amps and believe it or not, 2 10" bazookas. The sound was amazing. Of course, that was back in the late 80's, early 90's.

The 10w7 will be going into one of the subthump boxes. Does it actually need more space than the 1.1 it provides?

Thanks!
