Default Components, where to mount the x-over?

I finally got around to making a mounting plate for my CDT components. Now as far as the crossover, could I mount it in the doors by screwing them to the speaker mounting plate???? COuld they get damaged with the constant opening and shutting of the doors??? Also would it be ok to mount them on the other side of the plate (facing the glass) or should I just mount them between the door panel.

I prefer not to mount xovers inside the door. I have seen alot of the fail. But if it is the only place you can mount it make sure it is secure and it is between the door panel and the inner door skin. Water inside the door is the number one reason for failure.

Is there any problem mounting them around the amps on the rack or do they need to be close to the speaker?

Assuming that water is not a problem, could the constant shutting of the door create problems????? If it could, would under the seats be a good place to mount them then???

Cajun....where they are mounted in the signal chain does not make a difference on performance or sound.

Daniel...it depends on how your particular xovers are made. Overall I do think it would fail from door motion.

I put mine in where the rear speakers used to sit. There is plenty of room there.
