having audio problems. help?
i have an aftermarket amp with two punch 12's hooked up to the stock radio in a 04 z06. it makes a loud pop when it is turned on and off. i had it installed professionally and they say its the amp in the head unit turning off and there is nothing i can do about it without a new amp. i have a bolt series amp (i know cheap, but it works) and it never did this while i had it in my jaguar. if anyone has an opinion i would love to hear it. thanks!

Id try using a relay .. it might help the "thump" noise you hear..
Is this amp hooked up to the power ant output of the radio or just wired into Ign ?
This might be why it is doin it - If its Ign. you should try a relay - or a pulse timer relay .. this will delay the amp on/off -- might get rid of it ..

I think you "professional" installer is full of it if the thump is only coming from the subs. You radio is powering up after the amp and you amp is seeing that spike and of coarse amplifying that spike. A delay (or different turn-on) for the amp is needed.
