Default Please HELP ME!!

I've got a '98 C5 with the Bose setup with the pioneer 12-disk changer and im thinking of upgrading the whole system and don't know what to do or how to go about it the best way. My main concern is being able to play my copied CD's seeing as how i have several hundred of them. I recently purchased an alpine cd-player thinking that it would be a piece-of-cake job to change out the head-unit like i have with all my other cars but now im told that it will not work with the current bose set up and you need this adaptor or that adaptor and yada yada yada.

The cool part about changing out the system is that i already have an infinity kappa component set for the fronts and infinity 3-ways for the rear if i have to change the speakers with the new head unit.., but another question is... will the 6.5" speakers fit in the front? i was told by a local stereo shop they are too deep but then i have read some threads on the forum w/ people saying they have kappa's also.

So should i take back this head unit and get my money back and just change out the 12-disk changer to a new cd-changer that will play burned cd's or should i change out the whole system or what? I know i just bounced all over the place with several thoughts but i just don't know what to do...

Rip all the CDs to MP3s and ditch the CD changer.

Those speakers will fit without a doubt u just have to make a mounting plate u can totally do it... rip it all out it will sound way better... maybe even a nice amp to power components

Completely agree ...

Those Bose systems totally suk --

the componenets you have will fit without a doubt .. you will need to remake plates for the door - the stock ones are a 7" and a 4" -

Depth really isnt a problem ... Ive done 3 ways in there--

6" 4" 1" with the 1" flushed in behind the door handle -- for the "Big" customer that has his knees completely over the speakers..

the rears are the tuff one ... the depth isnt there --Ive always done rear mids only ,,, mostly 5.25" since its better for rear fill ...

radio replacement isnt all that bad .. simple dash kit ..

good luk ...
