Default amp rack ideas?

Ive ditched my last idea and now im looking for a new one. I dont want to put it on the back part of the truck like the rest of yall. Has anyone installed their amp on a partition?

Post up some of your amp racks.

I've been trying to design an amp rack as well. I originally thought about doing the amp rack as part of the partition, but then started thinking about safety (in case of an accident). I don't want it coming up and smacking me in the back of the head. I am now designing an amp rack that will lay flat right up against the lip behind the seats. I plan on using plexiglass for the lid (which I want to motorize) and mirrored plexiglass to cover the wires, so only the amp heat sinks and the top part of the capacitor show. Hope that helps you out with another idea.

Because, when it comes down to it, I'm basically an idiot I just discovered the 2 amps I bought for my C5 won't both fit together on the back wall. So I guess it's amp rack time for me as well. I would be very interested in any pre-built amp racks that people are selling, or any plans that are available.

I saw someone had Subthump custom make one for them. They are selling it on ebay with an amp and sub (with subthump enclosure). Might want to check with them or your local stereo shop. I talked to a guy at one near me and wanted around $ 500 to build an amp rack for my 01, because I am going to do some trick stuff. I will most likely do it myself. It is a lot easier than building a sub box.

500 seems crazy for me... i think im going to make a partition out of wood. Screw the amp and compasitor onto it and then make some kind of plexiglass layer on top of that to cover the wires and fans.

Not sure yet. I really need to get the box done first.....

My rack is very simple for the back of the C6. A MDF platform raised up about 1 1/4 inches. Holes cut out to match the raised part of the amps but small enough to cover the wires. The whole thing is covered with sub woofer cloth. The fuses and wiring are all on the under side. You can not see one wire. The rack is strong enough so that you can still put luggage in the back and the hight of the platform protects the amps from being scratched. Simple, cheap and effective!

if you are worried about taking up luggage storage room, here is an excellent option for you.

I spent many years in the car audio industry and JL Audio makes some of the best subwoofer products available on the market. This may solve your problem on storage space. You will still need to figure out your amp rack though

That would be a good idea but I already have a custom fiberglass box ive been working on. And there is no way my W7 will fit in the stealthbox.

Here's my plan for two amp racks. One is shown below as a cardboard template and the othere will tie into the one shown and the back of the waterfall.

If you can put it together, there will be a sub box as shown above on each side of the amp rack.

And for what it's worth, a custom amp rack for $500 doesn't sound too bad to me.

We have one almost complete for a client. It has 2- 10" subs and room for amps. If interested, let me know and I'll get some pictures for you. OEM carpet as well, and NOT $500.00--lol
