Subwoofer and Amp Combo
Now that I got the answer to my front soundstage questions I need a little help with subwoofers and amps.
I say that someone on here (name escapes me at the moment) have a 3 8 inch sub set up. I thought it looked great and I would like to do the same thing.
The subs I am looking at are JL Audio's 8w3. Now the D Series come in different ohm configs. If I wire 3 6ohm DVC drivers I can get a 4 ohm load. If I wire 3 4 ohm DVC drivers I can get a 2.67 load.
Now I want an amp that will run efficiently. The speakers handle 125 rms each. I want an amp that will do about 500 watts. Would it be better of the amp ran at 4 ohms and gave me 500 watts or an amp that at 2 ohms will give me the 500 watts.
Any help in this matter will be great.
