Default Pioneer AVIC-D1 bass problem

I just recently installed the AVIC-D1 head unit. I used the Prepherial adapter set so the Bose amps and speakers are retained. What is puzzling is that when listening to FM stations, I get the same amount of bass output as the stock H/U. But when I play from a CD, I get almost no bass. Playing from original CD's or from CD/R disks w/MP3 or WMA tracks gives the same result. I played with all combinations of EQ settings and just the bass from FM stations is all that becomes enhanced. Any suggestions??

It has something to do with ur remote turn on / power antenna wire. You hooked the power antenna wire up somewhere, when you should have used the remote wire instead. It has to do with the amp turning on and off, basically when u go to CD the amp is turning off which powers your subs in the doors. Atleast thats what it is to the best of my knowledge someone who is smarter should chime in

Pentavolvo pretty much hit the nail on the head. In all likelyhood, you're not getting power to your sub amps when playing CDs. What Peripheral wire adapter are you using? I looked at Peripheral, but they didn't seem to have an adapter that I liked. I'm currently using the PAC ROEM-VET1 adapter. I started out using the Soundgate GMCRV1, but the potentiometer for adjusting the gain to the subs went bad. To solve this problem for my PAC adapter, I had to splice the blue wire to the red power wire. Before you take any steps along this line, I would contact the technical support folks at Peripheral and get their inputs, not all wire adapters are equal.

Problem solved - Thanks for the replies. You guys were right, the power lead to power the antenna also powers the Bose amps. So antenna drops when switching to CD source - no power to amps. My temporary work around is the AVIC-D1 has a setting to leave the antenna up with any source setting. I'll get back in there this weekend to change things around.

The Peripheral parts I used were 1 ea. of SVEN2 and 1 ea. of SVHGM4. $55 shipped. Easy to connect and adjust the pots. Not very good instructions though - hence the problem.

Glad you figured it out! Similar problems when guys install Sony heads because they have 3 blue wires and only one is remote turn on!
