First fiberglass project

Over all, I am happy with the project so far. I am building two of these, one for each side that will hold to JL 10w6v2s powered by a JL 1000/1. I just picked up a set of Focal 165K2Ps that will be powered by a JL 300/2.
I will get a different material to fleece the other side to make myself have less body work because I want to fill em out and paint them. I am going to use Rage Gold for the filler. This stuff is good right? Thanks! BTW, I haven't started sanding yet, this is raw box.

Get some 60 grit wet paper wrapped around a stiff sanding sponge and knock down as many high and thin spots that you can. If you find any thin spots or voids, cut or grind them open to remove any weak resin/glass and fill 'em with some fiberglass putty (filler) before you try to cover and smooth with body filler.
I was too lazy to take any pics of my project tonight, let alone post 'em.
So thanks for posting, pics are always a good thing! It's amazing how long it takes for novices like us, huh?

Actually, this is the first time I've ever done fiberglass so I put down 10 layers for the box. I used chop mat and cloth. To strenghten and thicken the shaped top portion I am going to do that from the inside with a mixture of resin/Cabosil/strands. That way it will seal it completely air tight and make it sturdy enough to park the car on.
On the outside I will use Rage Gold body filler (after a little sanding) and prep it for painting.
