Just one of those things the "stereo challenged" are doomed to endure. I am a music lover and hate poor sound systems, but I am not schooled in the field of sound engineering. Therefore, I must hire those that are.

I just took the mirror off and mailed it to Reus. They did the mods.

As for the sound stage, when you listen to the music it sounds like the band is playing live on your dashboard. If you close your eyes, it's hard to tell it isn't "live."

Scott, I have all my wires run for a front stage (165K2Ps) and the subs with a JL 1000/1 and a 300/2 for the components. If I were to add more tweets and possible a mid in the dash like this would I need a different amp? How would you do the wiring config on this? A third amp may be better in this scenario.

In that case, a small 4-channel amp would work. 2 channels to the tweeters, and the other 2 channels bridged to the midrange. I would also make sure the amp has built-in crossovers to make your life easier.
Since the dash tweeter will be there for stage height, you would want them crossovered high, possibly as high as 10khz

My plans were to do tweets in the corners firing into the glass. I plan on using the unused HU power (50 watts X 4 ) and a custom passive crossover with some antenuation. Currently short on $ and time Thinking about putting Lambo doors on the C5

Really??? Let us know how it goes. After I finish my stereo mods and exterior mods/painting, a handfull of various small mods (rotors, hood, , exhaust, engine compartment detail etc.) then some HP increase will be a must . . . then lambo doors are in the back of my mind.

. . . dang, the C7 may be out before I get done modding my C5.

For those looking at the additional tweeters in "MNOTX" setup, CDT Audio has a new "Center Stage" configuration (similar to their "Stage Front" setup which I think works off the same amp as your main tweeters). Instead of a single midrange the additional center tweeters are suppose to play down into the midrange frequencies. I never heard any of the CDT equipment but have read many good post here on the forum about their speakers.

Thanks guys! Aside from money, there wouldn't be any problem just throwing in another amp to the mix right? I've already purchased the 300/2 for the Focals.

make sure you have the right size fuse and thick enough wire. I think you also have to think about the voltage of the line out, it's going to drop now becuase it's being shared.

I've already ran 0 AWG for the power and will be upgrading the "big 3".

Great thread. I woulda never thought about the rear view mirror. That must be one HECK of a shop that will fly out a tech to install. Dont wanna know how much that cost ya

Great ideas though, I think I will adapt some of this to my own system.

Are you running a center channel processor? How are those rearview tweeters wired? Just L and R? What about that single midrange up there?

I'm still trying to figure out where the hell to get a speaker small enough to fit in that defroster vent and if I can find one, will it be worth a crap?

There are some manufacturers that make a 1/2" tweeter. I would use a high crossover frequency like 10 KHz or so. MB Quart had them but they were MDS (Audax) line?? Anyone else remember them???? Parts Express would be a good place to look.
I also will look at home (at work now ). I maybe have some that might fit and would give them to you. I'm thinking the magnets will be too large though

Here's one that might fit (1 inch mounting depth and just over an inch total height). It's freq. range spec says it goes down to 250 Hz but I'm not sure that's low enough to keep certain voices (Tracy Chapman, Garth Brooks, etc.) from "dropping" down from the dash to the doors/kick panels.
