If your talking about the roof mounts, no, they are in the factory locations. It is kind of hard to see but if you look close you can see how the fiberglass had to be shaped just so the roof would still fit in. Along the outside woofer, the fiberglass goes down sharply then rounds back out. That was a PITA. I needed every cubic inch of airspace I could get. :o

The Corvette logo in the middle is not the front plate. It is actually clear plexiglass fiberglassed in, then painted around letters(took several coats for the light not to come through the blue) There is blue neon behind that lights up the Corvette letters. There is also other blue neon in the back that highlights the amps and subs. Underneath the Corvette sign is two CD changers and a 15 farad cap.

For the doors and kick panels, I chose Infinity Perfect 6.1s. I got two sets to compete with the 3 12" subs. They do just fine, they get louder than any ears should be subject to. They are crystal clear at high volumes too. Each speaker is getting 160 watts rms for a total of 640 watts of mid/high sound. The subs are getting a tad over 1K watts rms.

I agree, that poor bike....I could give it a good home

Cajundude,

Not at the moment. I had to take a break for a while due to Katrina, my family came to Texas, and then Rita, I had to evacuate. I did finish the form on the second box last night. I put one thick layer on the inside for reinforcement but I still wanna add a little more to the inside. Gonna mix up some extra resin with a can of DynaHair and slop that in there and it should be good. Aside from that, I will apply the Rage Gold and both boxes will be ready to paint. It was a beeeeeeoootch matching the second box to the first with that weird **** shape but it came out pretty good. Just a little off. Since the boxes are "organic" in nature, the difference should not be a problem at all.

I may have to take a little more of a break because yesterday I entered into a contract to sell my house, so, if all goes well with the inspection today I will start boxing things up pretty quick because the buyer needs to close ASAP. I've been busting butt lookin' for houses. I found about 40 that I like so my weekend will be filled. I may get some time to work on it during the evening hours this week.

Bad thing about selling the house...I just purchase a crap load of hard wood flooring to do the bedrooms upstairs. I'll just have to return it. Good thing about selling the house...there will be a blower in my NEAR future just in time for the racing season. I may even be able to swing a forged motor with it even after paying off all my damn credit cards.
Stupid credit! I'm making a killing on this sale and I have to spend it on that.... The good deal is Discover is waiving interest on all purchases for Katrina victims until February and since my Discover billing address is in New Orleans, blower and forged engine here I come!!!

BTW, what neon sticks do you recommend? Or should I ask EG?

Take a look at the cathode tubes
http://www.oznium.com/cathodes?sid=3...cf29709ae259f1

They give off great light and are pretty inexpensive. I have a pair of the 4" tubes in my car and they are bright.

Scott, I would be using them inside the amp rack that is gonna completely enclose the amp behind plexi. Should I put one 4" on top of the amp and one on the bottom or would one 4" or longer on the top suffice? Thanks!

My true loves have ben cast to the side lately...The one behind the box is an old road racing honda hawk with a CR 500 motor in it.
This is a pic of last winters project bike.

That my freinds is a turbo charged KZ 1000 STREET BIKE with a 295-50 15 on the back it is 68 in. long and 2in. off the ground.

This bike turns all the heads every where it go's......
This is the resone my box is going to be wraped in leather. There is WAY to much time makeing this bike strait as an arrow.
I did alot of the glass lay up myself witch included molding in the turn signels and headlighs.

i'd say one on top and bottom to get a more even spill of light. i would also play around with bounced light instead of shining the lights directly on the amps. another thing to think about is putting them under the amp to have a nice spill around the parameter.

The 4" tubes will be plenty bright enough, you may even need to drop the voltage a bit in order to turn down the intensity. Also you can play with different angle led's. They can be used to highlight specific parts of your amp rack.

Some real nice work going on there. Wish I had half the time to do something like this. Saw a 94 vert with 2 subs and 2 mids mounted to the back wall in a fiberglass enclosure. The owner of Long Island Sounds did it. Gave me some good ideas but I don't think I can pull it off. Something simpler is in order.
