cd player/reciever recommendation?

The CD player in my 94 quit working. I'm going to replace it with a better quality aftermarket unit. Does any one have any recommendations?

If you have the Bose unit, then major surgery will be needed. Mine had the Bose and I was less than happy with it. It took my installer hours to reconfigure everything to get the new system to properly work. For some reason, the Bose system is completely separate from everything else out there.

I now have an Alpine MP3 player and am extremely happy. Of course it plays CD's and because it's an MP3 player, you can burn about 200 songs onto one CD.

I installed a Kenwood with an amp the fit is perfect and beats the Blose to death.

kenwood kdc x889 good deck, has mosfit amp, sirious acc., g tech., mp3 ,acc, cdr etc. Won't break the bank $350.

I replaced my Bose cassette that did not work with an Alpine MP3 player. Took the installer about 45 minutes. It cost an extra $30.00 for the harness to hook up to Bose but the sound is great. Best $250.00 I ever spent.
