Default Chrysler head unit work in C5?

Hey guys, bare with me cause I have no idea about electronics. I want to put a double din nav unit in my C5, and understand that some console trimming and modification will have to be done. i have a 2004 Jeep grand cherokee limited with the navigation system in it as my daily driver. The measurments on the jeeps nav/head unit are exactly the same as my stock C5 head unit, there wouldn't have to be any trimming whatso ever to fit. my question is, since its a different company, would it work in my C5? Thanx! apreciate any info!

In a word, no.

More accurately, I would be stunned if it did. Each manufacturer does it's own thing... just so people don't to these kinds of fixes.

Metra does sell radio side harness for all car companies and then all you need is a car side harness for it to work but I doubt they make one for a nav system an I doubt it would work in a car like the C5. If you wanted to put an explorer radio in a wrangler though you could do that easily

as long as it doesnt have an external amp i dont think it would be too hard if the navi is built into the unit itself, especially with the metra harnesses.... one reverse harness for a chrysler and then a gm harness for the vette, and if the unit sent speaker signal u could tap into that to hook up an amp to the unit...possible yes, worth it..probably not

the problem is if the navigation use vehichle speed sensor inputs and a gps antenna etc, thats where it gets tricky
