Im looking to revamp the stereo in my '97 coupe. I already have a Pioneer DEHP-9400 head unit, but the previous owner installed somekind of speakers and now it sounds worse than a stock Blose system. I have put stereos in my other cars before, but the result was mediocre at best. I just don't have the knack for picking components that work well together. I want clear and crisp sound that can be loud without being distorted and decent bass(prolly just a single 10" sub in a stealth box). What speakers and components would you guys/gals recommend? Im looking to spend up to $1500 altogether on the stereo.
subthump or VrumVrum (forum members) for a sub box
Sub, way too many good choices but again, you can't go wrong with JL
Use two channels of the amp for the 3-ways in the doors and the other two channels bridged for the sub. That system will be soooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better than stock.
I have boston pro series in my 97 and they absolutely sing, make sure you get a good 4 channel amp such as the alpine mrv-f345 or 545 if you really want some clarity
