Default vke 1000

I am interested in putting a keyless entry unit in my 88 coupe. I have read on this forum that I could go with a GM model VKE 1000. I have found a VKE 1000 with a GM part number 12463355 and another one with a GM part number 12497735. Anyone know if these are interchangeable? I can't remember GM ever having 2 part numbers for the same model part. Just seems strange.

Thanks for the info.

Just in case any is wondering about this here is the answer thanks to Tom@ gmparts4u.
So, what I need is the 12497735 to install the keyless entry in my car.

ACCORDING TO MY PARTS CATALOG, I HAVE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION FOR YOU:

PART# 12463355 IS THE RECEIVER PACKAGE FOR THE GM SECURITY SYSTEM MODEL VSS2200
AND VSS2300

PART# 12497735 IS THE RECEIVER PACKAGE, TRANSMITTER, AND HARNESS FOR THE VKE1000
KEYLESS ENTRY

BOTH OF THESE ITEMS HAVE BEEN DISCONTINUED FROM GM, HOWEVER, THERE ARE SOME
DEALERS ON MY
LOCATOR THAT STILL SHOW TO STOCK BOTH ITEMS.

LET ME KNOW WHAT STATE YOU ARE LOCATED IN AND I WILL FIND A DEALER CLOSEST TO
YOU THAT HAS EITHER
OF THESE PART #'S FOR YOU.

THANKS AND HAVE A GREAT DAY
