Default Sirius Direct Connect Power Source

I installed a sirius direct connect unit (FM modulated via the radio antenna). This unit requires three connections for power. A power and ground connection continuous (I made this connection at the cigarette lighter since I already had the top of the console off to get at the back of the radio for the antenna connection). The other connection (power) is the connection that actually powers the Sirius unit on and off via the controller module (which I placed in the console glove box). This connection should be made to an accessory power source.

I cannot find such a source via the fuse panel. My radar detector is currently direct wired via a LittleFuse dual tap device (retains the original fuse and allows another circuit with its own fuse) to one of the fuses that I discovered is switched via the ignition. For the time being I have tapped the Sirius unit to that point. The problem with this connection is that the Sirius unit won't function with the car in accessory mode. Does anyone have a clue as to where I might make this connection for the Sirius unit. Hopefully a location that won't again require the removal of the top of the console.

This forum is great and everyone (well nearly everyone) provide useful and interesting info about this car we all love. Any clue on this issue would be appreciated. BTW I have a great dealer and service manager who couldn't readily locate a source either. I couldn't leave the car that day to allow him to look for other options. Thanks.

What Yr is the car ..

C5?..

if so .. look under your passenger footwell - there is a power source 3 pin connector there --

Has +12v / Ign / Ground there ..

this is the best spot to grab power .. other wise you might trip the CK engine lite

hope this helps ..

Thanks techguy but unfortunately my car is an '05 C6 coupe w/ the NAV radio. I don't remember seeing such a connector in my car but will look. I though about trying to figure out which wire going to the door harness provides power to the window switch. It is accessory powered. However, I don't know where to begin to figure that out. I originally tried hooking this Sirirus unit up with the PAC-Audio module (via aux connection - not FM modulated) but managed to acquire the "improved" unit discussed elsewhere in this forum that gives you DBS because it won't let the NAV unit shut down. I do not want to try that scenario again unless someone here can prove to me that that unit is truly "fixed" to work with a Corvette. Unfortunately I know enough about wiring audio equipment to be dangerous and haven't yet found anyone in St. Louis who knows what they are doing (any better than I do) - especially with the C6 Vette. Maybe I'll just wait for the new Sirius Direct Connect unit that is coming out in November and is supposed to be compatible with Corvettes. I hate to do that because this unit is great, my signal is good (better than the XM in my Equinox), and I really can't tell the difference in the FM modulated sound.
