Default Sirius Antenna Placement

i have an 03 coupe. i'm looking for any pix that you may have as to where you placed you antenna for sirius satellite radio.

i've heard of people mounting under the rear fascia but i'd love a pic or two to see exactly what we're talking about.

thanks in advance

I know the search feature is dead right now, but when it comes back do a search for it in the audio forums. Alot of people put it in the jam of the hatch closest to the door.

I velcro'd mine to the bottom of my trunk lid(Z06). This won't work for you but it shows that it works through fiberglass.

I mounted mine under the rear fascia.

I used double sided tape and attached it to the top of the right outside tailight opening.
if you remove the right outside tailight, put your hand in the opening and feel the top of the tailight opening on the inside, there is a little "ledge", it's enough room to mount a satellite antenna onto.

when you say "right outside tail light" you mean drivers side right?

no.

the right side of a car is always the passenger side.
just think of it as if you were sitting in the car, left would be driver and right is passenger.

I put my Sirius antenna on the dash in the center between the defroster vent and the base of the windshield. Have had no problems with it and have installed many sat antennas on the dash. I use about a 1/2" of double sided tape to hold in place and push the antenna wire down between the dash and W/S so it is out of view. Works great and is simple install

I've posted this picture a million times yet people still ask to see it. This is my XM antenna inside the rear fascia. It is sitting on the shelf above the license plate, simply held there with double sided tape. Worked great and used it that way for 3 years. The same will work for Sirius. I got the same reception issues and drops that I did in my roof mounted antenna on my van and SUV. The concealed install offered no negligible loss. Go for it.

alright, I just bought a Sirius radio and need to mount this thing. I am thinking the center of the dash would be best in terms of a simplistic install.

How do you get the cable from the radio to the rear taillight area as shown in the picture? Is there a grommet somewhere that is easy to go through?

Any other locations anybody is using? I want to keep it off the car and hidden but obviously hate the signal drop issues that I know I am going to get no matter what I do. I just want to limit them..

Thanks,
Bret

Inside the trunk, on the drivers side, just behind the wheel well, on the outside wall, just above the small tub, under the carpet There's a square hole with two flaps that is meant to be a vent when you shut your doors, you can fish the wire through there so you don't have to drill any holes.
