Fatmat smell?

Fatmat smell?

I just got a shipment of Fatmat 100 sq ft in. Opening the box and it smells like a road being resurfaced with ashphalt. Is my car going to smell if I install this stuff?

I put it in my trunk and doors. I never noticed a thing, but I let my car air out a lot during the install and afterwards before I but everything back together.

I've heard you will only get the "smell" when it is really hot.

I have b-quiet which is comparable to fatmat and the b-quiet has NO smell.

Yea I had this feeling I would be cruising down I-5, 105 degrees, smelling ashphalt all the way.

I took out 80% of the noise with new tires. Maybe I'll try the frost king mod first.

The Frost King mod will cut down on heat (center tunnel) and overall road noise

. However, it will do nothing to dampen panels and cut down on viberations and buzzing
