THANK YOU for posting the Eclipse pic!

How do you feel about the Eclipse now that it's in your C6?

How much did you pay for
unit?
installation?

Where did you buy the unit and who did the install?

Thanks again.

Any closer shots? What dash kit is that? It looks like it fits very well.

I absolutely love the Eclipse!! I have had it for about two weeks now. It has much better sound than the stock 6 disc unit that cane in the car. I have not really used the navigation much but it looks good. Am planning a trip to Daytona Beach, FL in a couple of weeks. I will put it to the test then.

I paid $2200.00 for the unit installed. I purchased everthing from a stereo shop in Campbellsville, KY called Traffic Jam. They do great work!! They have done 3-4 installs for me in the past and always do quality work.

The unit has Sirius, plays MP3s, DVD's, CD's, and I plan to add the back-up camera in the next few weeks. I could not be happier with the unit and the install. I was really worried before the install that maybe it would not look like a factory install but It looks better! Also, there are no rattles so far.

Very informative. Metra 95-3304 is a double din dash kit that should work.

Thank you!!! When I installed the AVN5435, Metra wasn't making this and I spent HOURS cutting a different one. Will be buying this and replacing the one I made. Should make it look MUCH better!

Will update the instructions after I get it installed.

Just spent some tine trying to find anyone that has the Metra 95-3304. Nobody. Metra has the Installation Instructions on-line, but not the part. Sent a note to Metra ...

Where did you get the Metra 95-3304?

I called these guys and they ordered it for me. I should have it in a few days. They tried to tell me it was the 99-3304, but that the double din with two separate holes. The 95-3304 has one double din sized hole. It's about 18 bucks shipped.

I just recieved it. It looks good but the texture is different than the stock dash. I think it's the same dash kit seen with the Eclipse unit in the pictures above.

I'm having the Pioneer AVIC-D1 installed tomorrow in my 06 C6. It will include voice command, backup camera, & will play DVD's.

I will post pics after the install.

The D1 doesn't play DVD's. You need an external DVD changer.

Which aftermarket units (stock or modded) will play DVD's in the dash?

Will any units play MP3s burned onto DVD's?

I think the new Cadillac Escalade head unit does all of the above.
Do you think the Caddy unit would be worth getting,
or should I just stick with the upcoming AVIC Z1?

I wonder if there is a way to mount a screen that will display all the navigation information at the very bottom of windshield, on top of the dash. (like where a Garmin "bean bag" mount would go, but all the way up against the wind shield.)

I like how the GM navigation displays limited navigation info in the HUD.
But,
I'd like to have ALL of the navigation info (map included) as close to the windshield as possible so I don't have to take my eyes off the road.

My Eclipse AVN5435 plays DVDs. It will also play MP3s burned to a CD. Not sure if it plays MP3s butned on a DVD.
