I have not decided what to do to get past that part yet.
I almost lost it when I found out the pioneer 6 or 12 disk changer was like $1100.

I purchased a hard drive that you can put your dvd's on. avix 80 gig.
it can also do mp3's
so far I have only played with it on my house tv. pretty cool unit, although it wont run some movie file extensions for some reason. mainly having issues with most of my .wmv
and I have not tried to put a dvd on it yet.
it will also display pictures.

I have not got around to setting up any of it though, I have been dealing with moving and the expenses involved with moving/having a new place.
I need to buy all the wiring stuff to do amp power, and dist blocks, etc

Default Dvd

This is what I purchased:
http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?...roduct_id=3297

It and my Avic-D1 are en route... can't wait!

I'm not sure where I'll mount the DVD player yet. Ideally I could remove the ashtray and lighter and put it behind the door, but I doubt there's enough clearance behind it, right? I could move the AC controls down and put it above, but I don't really want to see it. Therefore, I may put it beind a seat or the glove box or under the dash if I can... I need to get in the car and look around.

My DVD and 12 disc changer is mounted in the storage pocket right rear side. Remote head for DVD is in ash tray area. That is a nice DVD unit you have selected

The one drwhitelyrecommended is a nice unit.
I have no name one that is awesome and I have the Pioneer 12 disc changer. CDX-P1280 is the changer's modle number.

I can't find any side shots of the unit. Is the rear enclosed, could it be remote mounted or would I need to make a trim piece for it?

Thanks In advance, Ed

i agree that soundstream should have a better product but if you need something slimmer, the 1/2 din may be your best solution. plus it's only ntsc anyway so there is your major bottleneck.

Right now I've just got it sitting on the rear shelf. I plan to make a small enclosure for it there in the future, but have been distracted by other projects around the house.

It has a remote IR sensor that can easily be wired so that you can control it from the front with the remote.

After using the unit for several weeks, I'm very happy with the purchase and would recommend the Soundstream unit.

Can you elaborate more on the one that has the TV tuner in it?
