Dillema, would like opinions....
Avic - D1 (55x4, 22rmsx4) Head unit,
kicker 600.4 125x4@2ohms, 350x2@4ohms,
kicker 1200.1 1200w@1ohm,
(2) 10w6v2 JL subs,
JL XR6.5 components,
and JL XR5.25" coaxials.
Naturally, the 6.5s are going up front, and the 5.25's in the rear, they handle 70WRMS and 50W RMS respectively. My thought is to just use one amp for the subs and power the coaxials and components off the head unit, bypassing the factory amp of course.
IMHO, 2 amps and 2 subs in this car looks out of place, the kickers are way too big. So I am torn. Do I run 2 subs or one. Also, is my headunit going to adequately run the components. I've not heard of anyone on here running components right off a head unit, anyone have any success with this?
Thanks, Ed
how about running one sub (should be more then enough in a vette) and one four chan. amp use chsns 1&2 for the front and bridge 3&4 for the sub. (power the rears off the head unit or dont even use rears) I have this setup and its great. There are a few companies; like xtant, that have dedicated 3 chan amps for this purpose.

I'm going to make an amp rack to go against the rear wall of the cargo area, leave the amps back there, use both. That way I can use the 600 gained all the way down for the 4 speakers, and the 1200 for both subs. If it's too much I'll just gain it down some or take a sub out. I'll put the two subs behind the seats and face them rearwards. Hopefully this will work. I had both subs in small enclosures in my lightning adn they sounded great, didn'g blow me out of the truck, so we'll see what happens.
Thank you for the input though.
