Default More help with first install

Continuing my first radio/amp/sub install. Got any tips for where to run the wires? I was thinking either the door sill or under the carpet. However I am not finding very many useful posts for removing the door sill or getting the carpet up so I can run the wire under it. I don't really know where to begin. anyone got any suggestions?

do you have a coupe or frc

i think they are close enough to not matter.

First remove the seats. there are only 4 bolts on each. No special way to doin this. if you have power seats, you will have to unclip the connector to the seats. before you unplug the seats, make sure you have unbolted all 4 bolts. If you have power seats, there is no way to move them without power. Once the seats are out.

right there where my hands are. you take that door sill and just pull up nearest the seatbelt. once you get that piece up, the piece closest to the dash, ur gonna pull out horizontally. towards the back of the car.

if you have a coupe, not sure about this one, if you have a frc, you will have to remove the center plastic trim under the back window. Now remove the top seatbelt bolt with a T50 star. Also there is a very small pin on the outside where 2 pieces of interior meet. this pin holds the weather seal inplace there. remove this pin. this is the only bolt holding that panel together. this panel just pulls out. the the piece behind the seat belt. low on the b-pillar, where you removed the door sill. that piece also just comes out. Let me know if this is wrong guys.

no I just want to pull up the passenger side to run wire, or run it under the door sill. I'm not experienced enough to get all of that stuff out I'm afraid.

Not to worry, I just had my entire interior out of my car with no problems, you can do this.
Wires you will have to run, power lead from the amp, ground from the amp, I used the passengers side seat mount as a ground point, and a remote turn on to the amp from the radio. That will get the amp to turn on and off. When hooking up your ground make sure you clean the area to the metal for a good connection.
Next you will have to run RCA's to the amp from the HU to get signal to the amp. It is important to not run the RCA's together with the power lead, you can get engine wine when doing this, so run them on opposite sides of the car.
Now, to get the door sill of just grab onto it at the back side of the door and pull up, it is held in place with clips it will come. Continue pulling moving to the front until removed. Thats it for that.
The trims around the seat bels are held in place with a push pin at the bottom and a clip up higher. First pull the bottom toward the inside of the car to pull the pin from its mount. Next pull up from the door jam area until removed, same both sides.

Well this is a start, I'll PM you with a phone number give me a call if ya have any questions.

wow thanks for all the good info. My car genius buddy helped me work on it yesterday, we have finsished with everything except the ground wire placement. The kit i bought only came with 3 foot of cable, so I think I have to go and get some today. I am going to try to work on it alone today. Which bolt is exactly used as the passenger side seat mount you were talking about, do you mean where the seat goes back and forth on?

Use the back, inside bolt that secures the seat to the floor of your vette. Make sure that you clean the threads, bottom of the bollt and the part of the seat frame of all paint to ensure that you are getting a good connection.

see about the question you posted, just let these guys know the specs on the amp and box you have or if you dont have an amp, just let them know what size box and they will steer you in the right direction
