Anxiety over my new sound system
Well I decided to go my own way on this one and re-do my entire sound system, all of which is in the mail. Whaddaya think?
Kenwood KDC-3028 CD / MP3 Changer (1 Din)
Kenwood KGC-9044 Equalizer (the other din)
Kenwood Music Keg trunk-mount MP3 player
Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1 component system
2 Infinity Kappa Perfect 10VQ subwoofers in a Q-Logic QLH-10D75 box
Infinity REF5761A 560W RMS 6-channel amp
with my existing MTX Audio 6x9's
Whaddaya think? Speak up, this may be the last time I hear any of you

personally i think you can get better equipment for roughly the same price. i'm not a fan of the infinity amps based on there specs (seems like a lot of noise from what i remember) check out the elemental designs amps, a reputable forum member really likes them and they are a decent price. for a sub i am exreamly happy with my image dynamics sub and it was pretty cheap... $130 shipped from cardomain.com also... cdt components are great and you can get them for around $150, not sure about the kappa's but the cdt's have a great rep on the forum (i have them too)
wait.... do you have a c5 or c4? where are you putting the 6x9s?

Kenwood?
I would go with an Eclipse hu. Are you using Vrum Vrum's mounting bracket? I just got mine today, and it is VERY nice-and well worth the money.

i always say go eclipse also, but i saw he wanted a 'music keg' and kenwood is your only option unless you go the ipod route (or better yet the car pc route )

I thought about doing the car PC thing for MP3's but decided that I wanted to control all of my audio from one place and not use an auxiliary input. This system is going in a '90 C4, theres a spot for the 6x9's in the back, the fronts are going to be modified to accomidate a 6" round instead of the usual 4x6. I actually already have JBL titanium tweeters hidden behind my mirror, but I felt that a component system would have a better sound to it in the end.
The main reason I went with an Infinity amp was the 6 channels, 2 of which are amplified slightly more for the subs. The focus is clarity, not necissarily volume so I felt that that amp should do fine (I've been using a 400w peak 4ch amp from Memphis Audio up until now and its been powering 6 speakers)
I might end up doing a car PC later on for GPS and engine management later on, not sure yet. I definitely thought about it though...
