My friend gave me a new infinity basslink for my birthday (What a friend ) I just installed a new Pioneer system in my C4 and he thought it would make a nice addition.
I was curious if anyone on the forums has a basslink in thier C4, and if so, where did you mount it ?
I am also interested to know if you used the front, rear, or both patch cable inputs. I couldn't find a good reason to run 2 sets of patch cables to the sub. Why would you need front and/or rear inputs for a sub ?
I don't have an amp for the other 4 speakers, the head unit sounds alot better than old Bose system.
I did a search for Infinity Basslink, but all of the threads were old and locked.
I installed one of the origional Basslinks in a C4 a few years ago at work and it gave it some nice thump, only run one set of rcas there is no need for the second pair. As well try to have it so it has something to fire against if that makes sense the manual should explain it somewhat. As well you need a 10gauge or 8 gauge power cable for that
I am in Northen Illinois if you want/need any help with the install. Just play around and you will be suprised with how good you can get it to sound. Depending on what model Pioneer HU you have you probally have a Sub output on it allowing you to make all adjustments for bass level from the headunit, so you wont have to hook up the bass ****, if your model came with it. Also if you need wiring order some from kunkonceptz.com they have nice stuff and awesome pricing
10 gauge will be fine thats what I use at work on all of them and its what Infinity says to use I believe, but an 8gauge will work as well, which is probally easier to fine but it is a smidge overkill
I found some good 10 gauge wire and decided it sounds best in the very rear of the hatch area. I am happy with that as it doesn't restrict my access to the storage areas.
