Well I'm in the process of doing a big upgrade and I want to relocate my ground. The original owner of the car grounded the amps to the seat rail which seems a little odd to me (not to mention the interesting rumbling of the bass tube when I get in and out of my seat). Where did you ground yours?

I removed the driver's seat, took off the bolt that holds the frame to the floor stud (closest to the tunnel), removed a bunch of the paint using a dremel and wire brush and grounded to that stud point. I've had no problems with noise, so I guess it worked okay.
I can try that, and probably will, but I'm pretty sure that this will turn out to be a reasonable ground point. I mean, the seat frames aren't bolted to a stud mounted to fiberglass...
When it gets a little warmer, I will test as you suggested, though.
