Any good places to put a ps2 in a c5
I'm getting everything ready to go with my system before I install anything so I want to map out where everything will be mounted. I want to put a ps2 in the car, the slim one, now it physically fits into the glove box but it wouldnt fit all that smooth at the end of the day. I have mdf mounted behind the seats and along the frame in the back. Anyone know if a ps2 will run sideways? I know the old ones don't. So any ideas or anyone who has mounted a ps2, your imput would be apprciated, thanks. oh yea I want it to be semi-reachable the rear comparments are too far away from the seats. thanks again

just drilled some holes and screwed it in.
so i've been thinking... is it possible to remove the cd tray from the ps2? you could mount the tray up front under your stereo if it was possible

Theres a post floating around of a red interrior c5, where the ps2 is molded into the glove box area. Looks pretty cool.

oo, so many reponses...
1st, taking the drive out of the ps2, I thought about that. I'm actually gonna look more into that. If I could mount it in the dash that would be sick, also I could use the old bukly lame ps2 and keep the slim one in my house. I'm going to look up some diagrams then maybe take my apart.
2nd, the custom mount in that red one.... it looked like death. I mean it was KuxtmIZed and looked a bit to flashy for me.
3rd, mounting the ps2 sideways, I know it will run standing up but what im wondering about is if it will run mounted to mdf behind the seat, as if it is mounted flush will a wall. I dont know if that describes what im talking about correctly, lol
hmm i think thats everything, accually these ideas are very helpful

hmmm, my friend and I put an xbox in his 914, we put almost all the stuff that a carputer has and just used the xbox for it. He was on a budget so it worked out better for him. lol although I am on a budget as well... lol but I'm going to do the computer so an xbox just seemed less needed, I had hoped to mount the slim ps2 in the glove box but I dont think thats going to work out so well. As far as one over the other... hmm where could I put the xbox tho.. its bigger than an old ps2.

well, i was just thinking that since it is basically a computer you could definately extend the drive (or purchase another optical drive and just wire that up instead.

Hmm if I wanted to mount the drive in the dash I dont think I would be able to go very far with the rest of the goods. Both drives are just ide so the guts would have to be pretty close by. As far as size goes both an xbox and an older ps2 are too huge and bulky to fit inside the dash... but If I can hook up a regular ide dvd drive to a slim ps2 it might be on! I think I could figure out a place to mount it from there, then just extend the controler plug in's and mount them in the side or somewhere creative...
