Default Late model BOSE/89 Vette compatibility?

Love the bose in my 02 Silverado, hate the one in the 89. In an effort to look stock to reduce breakin attempts, would a system like this work? What about wiring/speakers, etc? I know nothing about this stuff.
Aftermarket stuff is better I know, but any system Ive bought over the years has been ripped off, I think most would leave a Bose alone
THanks

well... no.

let me qualify... the bose model changes every-so-often.

I just don't see it fitting. The later bose systems use off speaker amps instead of the little amps... there is overall hardware fitment (I do think the head will fit) but you would need ALL the bose hardware and then integrate it with the corvette.

more trouble than it is worth.

what does work is the fbody bose head unit... there are cables made to adapt it to the C4 harness.

get the stock enclosures upgraded and I think you would be happy. bose does the speaker stuff cheap, under 100.00 per enclosure.

also i think that the c5 bose uses a signal from the pcm to work. If that signal is not present you cant turn it on.

Default I would disagree

After just installing a new HU in 1990, I believe that someone would have to steal the car to remove it. It would take at least 30 minutes to remove it, if the thief knew what he was doing. Thats a pretty long time.

no... that's why god invented prybars.

I bet you any amount of $$ that I could yank a head unit from just about any car in about 2 minutes.

The hardest? factory honda radios... they used to bolt them in place from behind with three 10mm bolts.

If you go with aftermarket speakers $150 and headunit $200, you can still reuse the bose preamp wiring. It's puny, but will work fine just to make some noise.

6x9s bolt right in to the back. Fronts, I dunno, 4" might bolt in.

Aside from my headunit, everything in the car looks stock. If this ******* ever gives me my gears back I'll show ya.

The guy that broke into my Ford didn't have the courtesy to unscrew the panels carefully and unplug the wires. Imagine that.
