System...Opinions
Alpine CDA-9857 & Ipod Cable (buying to replace current Alpine (not enough outputs) )
JL Stealhbox or Subthump Box (buying)
4 Guage Power and Ground (buying)
Infinity Reference 5761a Amp (buying)
MB Quart RSB218 Front Speakers (have)
Infinity Rears Speakers (have)
Thanks.
JL carries a pretty good amp reputation here but they are not well suited to running an entire system from their 4 channel. I would look into the Phoenix gold line, Xenon or Octane. People have had good success with them here. Rest of it looks pretty good.

What about these amps:
PHOENIX GOLD OCTANE R9.0:5 5 CH 900W CAR AMP AMPLIFIER
or PHOENIX GOLD OCTANE R8.0:4 CAR AMP AMPLIFIER 4CH 800W
or PHOENIX GOLD XENON X200.4 COMPETITION CAR AMPLIFIER AMP
or Phoenix Gold XENON 600.1 X600.1 CLASS D Amp NEW 05 600W
Also, who makes good power and grounds? Use spade ends or bare wire? How many pairs of RCS’s would I need?
I plan on running the rears off the head unit. Would a 5 channel sound better or is it unnecessary? I like the fade to the front with a hint of rears for background.
Thanks again.
You will need to run 2 sets of RCA's from your HU. One set for the front 2 channels and 1 set for the sub from your sub out (non fadeable) on your HU. Most quality HU's come with 3 preouts these days (or more).
This way you will be able to "fade in" your rear speakers being powered off of your deck to your liking. Just be sure to run your rear speakers from the rear speaker leads on your deck and you are gtg. 4 gauge power and ground will suffice for your set up and allow for the addition of another amp without having to upgrade the wiring. Go with BIG watts and you will however. Many guys are running 1/0 here for both. I have 4 gauge for my 500 or so watts. Knuconceptz.com sells an amp kit for a pretty good value. Could add another set of RCA's to that and you would be good to go. 100+ amp fuse at the battery + a 40-60 amp fuse near your amp and you are set.

Thanks Fej. I will place my order today. Mind if I call you if I have questions during my install. I appreciate your assistance. This should be pretty easy.
