I dont know if you all like systems or not in your cars, but I am building a custom box for my vette to fit 1 possible 2 12" adiobahn that is going to take up as little space as possible with max sound. Been working on the design for a while and finally have a car to try it out on. I will keep you posted on how it comes along. It should be done by the end of the week..
ANyone have any suggestions as how to make it small but still sound good? Ported or not? I have the design but am always open to suggestions
Click on the Forums drop down menu on the upper left of the screen then click on General Corvette and click on Audio/Electronics. There is a lot of information there.
To be small and sound good it has to be small. Ive built several and had good luck. I too am getting ready to build my first one for the vette. What is you design consept? The main thing to pay attention to is the cubic feet required by your sub. If you need help figuring any #s give me a holla.
I could def use help on the numbers, I am just going to put on 12" audiobahn sub in the trunk, decided against 2, and I only have the design not the actual spacial considerations figured out yet. Any tips on size and space would be great
Ok I am at work right this moment but I will definately post tonight after I get the information or at latest tomorrow morning. Thanks for the offer of your help
Yeah I know trust me lol I been working with systems for a long time now, but unfortunately I have sold all but the adiobahns and dont really care too much to spend money on speakers anymore. But yeah I have had them for about 3 or 4 years now. They crank with the 1500 watts I have going directly to them.
hey, just got done with mine... i have 2 JL 12"s and just to brag a little more, i recent went from a wal-mart special 400 watt amp to close to a 2000 Watt audiobahn.. but i didn't do any calculate anything but what i needed to make the box fit in the car and be able to access my compartments in the back.... any questions just ask...

(1) 12" sub will be plenty for a Corvette. I went with (1) 10" Alpine Type R sub because I wanted to give the sub enough room and not take up too much of the trunk. I probably could have gone with the 12", but the 10" delivers what I was looking for.
Good luck with your install. The single 12" will be awesome in that car
Thanks for the replies, yeah i cant wait to install it i have a 1000 watt alpine amp powering it. Also the vette is familiar it is JB666's old vette. My rents bought it from him as an early grad gift for me
I wish I had cool 'rents when I was in HS... I got a lousy Pacer...
hey man my dad bought me and LT1 cop car... not that it wasn't an awesome car but i bought this vette... the vette forum guys all said it was the deal of the year... i got it for a grand...
and i agree about one twelve being enough... i've got mine turned pretty low to where they are just barely pumpin, but it will greatly extend the life of the subs.... the only reason i did this is because i had two of the same subs and decided to put them both in.. plus i'm in highschool and we do stupid @#$% like that..
