My local crack dealer (I mean audio shop) got a demo model of the new double DIN W200 from Alpine and I'm impressed with it from my initial playing with it. Was wondering if anybody has used one or even heard anything about it? It would be replacing a CDA-9855 from last year.
I checked it out also and will be replacing my flip out with that unit and remolding my dash. This is something I have been wanting to do for awhile but I am an Alpine man and they didnt have one until now.www.cardomain.com/id/cstylez

your car is really cool. I really like the white faced gauges. They seem to onl fit with the lighter colored interiors. Very nicely done. I love the engine bay too. Very clean.

Ok mine will be here tomorrow, first time I heard this and I am not sure what it means as I am not the big time stereophile.????? Marty??
My buddy who is a manager at a Hifi Buys here in Georgia said the w200 is impressive. I've yet to be able to find some time to head up there and play around with it.
the line voltage is a way of lowering external noise from RCA cables. The higher the voltage, the more resistant the system is from EMF noises... the other side of the equation is that the gains on the amps can be lower. This means that the amps are not as sensative to external noises.
Either way, the higher the voltage, the better quality the sound SHOULD be.

Thats true ...
What you want it HIGH Voltage .. Low impedance on your RCA's
The high voltage blocks most "noise" that can be radiated into the signal path ..
Ok- the 2v output .... is alittle low ... but this unit is more of a General Multi Media Piece not an SQ unit ...
If you are a BIG SQ guy - this is not the unit for you ... you should be getting the CDA9860 or some equivalant -
But if you are keeping any of the BOSE stuff .. and are looking for a SWEET radio with alot of features , this is the one-
If the low output is an issue ... there are PLENTY of line drivers out there -
Phoenix Gold has a nice 6ch 8v out line driver ...
Simple Fix .
So do I need this you know what I am doing right:
Lookinng to improve sound substantially on Bose and add capability to have Nav and Ipod control:
SO I will have:
W200
JL TR350cxi in doors
JL TR525 in rears
Keeping bose in doors for moment but will probably do something with those.
Potentially adding a PDX 4.150 amp for fronts and rears
I too want to use one of these for my Lexus but was a little apprehensive about the 2V output.
I would like to hear more about this Phoenix Gold line driver device. This does not add sound issues it is clean higher voltage?
Have not heard the unit thought it was coming out this month.

The 2v output is only an issue if you plan to use External Amps ...
If you are keeping the factory stuff ... then its not an issue ....
Otherwise - The Phoenix Gold Line Driver is the solution - all it does is Boost the Line Voltage to 8v and lower the impedance to 100ohms - this then makes the amps work less...less "noise" at low volume -
