Had Tweeter install a Clarion DXZ945MP head unit, Polk SR6500 Reference Series 6 1/2" components in the doors powered by a 4-channel Infinity Reference Series Amp 7541a bridged to 2-channels(278 watts RMS), an Alpine 10" Type R sub in a Q-Logic box powered by an Alpine V12 MRD-M605 mono amp(600w). I chose to pass on putting 5 1/4" in the rears(I have an '03 Z06) based on all the threads fej replied to saying this is the way to go. It all sounds awesome. It is just a shame the Z is so loud on the road. When I'm parked in my garage, the sound is utterly amazing from the Polk's. The ring radiator tweeter is the smoothest car tweeter I have ever heard. I was going to go with the Focal set-up until I heard these side by side and it was no doubt.

wow pretty strong statement comparing the polks to focals. Congrats on the system install, got pics?
as far as being loud you can sound deaden the car and you'll notice an increase in comfort and clarity.
I may just do that. I can definitely snap some photos. Yeah, the Polk highs were just that much better for me than the Focals. Very, very silky. Focals are superb as well. But then again, the Polk's were $150 more than the Focal's: $750 vs. $600.
There is a definite difference between the Focals and the Polks, Polks tend to be a bit flatter in their response, at least to my ear which leads me to like the Focal midrange better. Although I am currently trying to mess around with some crossover points on the tweets, and if I am not happy I will begin researching another tweet as my TN 51's are just not quite what I am looking for in their off axis response
Made some changes today to the new system. Replaced the Infinity amp with an Alpine V12 MRV-F545 bi-amped to my Polk components and changed the Alpine 10" sub from a type R to a 10" Type X. Nice improvement for only $400.

I agree some of the entry level Focals are not that hot for the $$.
The Utopia series drivers are another story

Sweet set-up
It's nice to see Clarion utilizing 24 bit DAC's in their other decks!
That has to sound phenomenal.
I'd love to hear that thing in person. That always kills me. You can snap pics of your set-up, but you can't give a listen on the web to appreciate the SQ.
