Oval Boston Sub

I was watchin Overhaulin and they did a 64 impala and used a new oval sub. Pretty wild anyone see that???

saw the same one....looked like a giant 6x9. Pretty cool and the mounting options would be even greater I would assume

Sounds like a marketing gimmick...Sony has the pentagon subs, X-tant has the hexagon subs, and Kicker has square subs. Who has the octagon subs?
My point is I don't know of any home speakers that use anything but round drivers

(minus tweeters)
I've also yet to see any 6X9's in a USAC or IASAC SQ competitions. I wonder why

seems like anything but a circle wouldnt be as solid...it's like introducing weak points into the cone. but i guess it'd take some abusing to actually fatigue a cone. oh well..i gotta get my cable hooked up!!! i miss that show!
