Default C5 Front speaker rattle

I have an 02 with less than 6K miles that I recently bought from the original owner. The car is practically still new and all is OK except for a rattle that I get out of the front speaker on some songs with a lot of Bass and when there is just speaking such as talk radio/ball games. All fo the settings are in the middle of the ranges.

Is there something possibly loose in the speaker assembly or does it sound like like speaker damage?

What would you guys recommend?

quick way to test if it isthe emblem (odds are it is) tap it down and listen to see if the rattle went away... if it did then move onto step two and glue that sucker down

No luck on the BOSE emblem. Seems solidly attached and does not move. Any other ideas?

How hard is it to access/remove the cover and see if something looks wrong with the speaker?

take off the whole door panel and check it out. It is very easy. I had to take my door panel off after I owned my C5 for one week so I could replace the window motor. Its not hard at all to do.

Before you take the door panel off, push in on the edges of the door panel. There are a bunch of round plastic clips with little reverse brads on them that push in and hold the door panel secure. A couple of mine had backed out a little bit and that was where my rattle was coming from. Mine was on the passenger side. I don't know how they backed out because if you have ever taken the door panel off, you know how hard you have to pull to get them to release.

I rolled up a few pieces of electrical tape and slid them between the panel and the door along the bottom. Took care of the rattle.

had this problem with my truck speakers: i'd reccomend getting a set of 10x10 dynamat and put it behind the speaker in question and it's opposiate counterpart. this shoudl elemenate speaker panel distortion.
