I had horns and hart 6's in my Integra WAY back in the day ... crazy imaging and pretty easy to set up and get to sound really good. Doable for sure, especially if you drive an auto. (and you don't have size 15's) Would think it would involve a bit of cutting from the piece below the wheel to get proper clearance although the horns are a lot smaller than they used to be. Might be able to do it without cutting actually, maybe just remove a bit of the thicker carpet/padding in the passenger footwell area. I actually have my old horns in the loft of my garage .... hmmmm

i really dont know the first thing about horns besides the post saying they would sound great with my amps. every one i've seen has been placed exactly where you described...does the horn take the place of say a 4" and a tweeter or just a tweeter? the cdt website made it seem as if it had midbass capabilities.

IIRC they play from 1khz and up? I can't remember exactly. Basically a large portion of the vocal range as well as about 85% of the entire frequency range. Pretty impressive technology. Have never had a car with the soundstage height that the Integra with the horns had, and back then I really did not care much I wanted it loud, clear, and to hit HARD in those days. I have gotten older so now I want the same things, but more accurate with less bass.

Allows the use of a nice 8" midbass to play up to your horns, and then the horns take over, lot less concern about imaging and crossover points etc.

i've spent allnight researching these and they just sound perfect...except for the fact that i'll be going eq-less for the time being (until i find a software solution...i want to have the cleanest signal from the dac's on the breakout box to the amps) and also the fact that i have an amp that is pushing 75 watts into 8 ohms...which would make my eyes bleed.

i may hold off just a tad on installing the front 6.5" mid/bass drivers for now and if it looks like i can use a software eq then i'm going to seriously look into the image dynamics mini horns with a audiophile attenuator on those channels to bring them back down to reality.
