I currently have my amp installed behind the passenger seat. Although this takes up only 3-4 inches of adjustment from the seat, it is to much for my long legged wife!! Can anyone recommend another mount point for an amp in the hatch area? I was just going to stick it under the glass, but an installer told me I didn't want to do that....
You could build an amp rack for it, maybe throw on a fan or 2 while you're at it. I'm putting my entire install in a plexiglass-topped box with fans n junk

Yeah, I made a box similar to that. There is really no where else to fit the amps.
Go stealth... put it under the seat. I have a JL 500.1 under there with no clearance issues... just a tease when the seat is all the way back.. the JL audio end cap sticks out. Pretty slick.
Pics to follow.
No fitment issues with the rear bulkhead??? I mean as far as drilling, etc. I tried to fit it under the seat, but it was a no go. Thanks for the tips so far, guys......
Mine sits on the rear bulkhead of my 88. Watch out for the gas tank. When I bought my 78 the guy said " when I fill my tank over half I smell gas". Thats because the clown that installed the speaker box used a 3" screw to screw the box to the back. Although the gas tank is a nice solid mounting point it does have its draw backs.LOL
