Thanks for your input on how the amps stackup compared to each other. As far as the Memphis, I know we have chatted before. Are you thinking I should find an older Memphis. I know some people aren't sure if their newest stuff is on the same level as the older stuff.
If older, I may need some guidance as to models to look for. I am not well versed in Memphis stuff (or any other higher end stuff like Zapco, Butler, etc.).
Zapco and Butler are a whole level of there own but u pay for it... IMO they are great amps but you have to have your entire system on par with them to see the benefit. ED works for me cuase its in my budget
I think what he means by on par is quality HU (burr brown 24bit DAC's etc) and some $$ spent on the small stuff like fuses, distro blocks, RCA's etc etc. IE no skimping and proper tuning/set up or you won't see the true potential of the system. I could be wrong however heh.
Pick a budget you want to work with bro and we will get you the best of what you can get within that budget.

this makes me happy...but now i am wondering if i should upgrade my comps....
Thanks guys...I could tell from the price tag of those Zapco's that they must be a good quality amp. I think for this system, I'll be staying a little lower tier.
I still think those ED's are looking good and they are a very good price. I have put together numbers including the Eclipse 8445, CDT CL-641, ED amps, Image Dynamic IDQ 12d2 (in series) plus Vrum Vrum mounting plates for HU and speakers. Total came out to be right under $1500. I already have a bunch of wiring and distro blocks laying around.
I know my original goal was to stay around $1500. I am wondering if it will be a noticeable improvement to spend the extra $100 and get the CDT HD-642? I am also still thinking about going active crossover if I can find a good one to use.
The new Zapco 5 ch. digital amp is bad to the bone. The internal xovers do the xing after the digital converter to xover without noise or any signal loss then converts it to analog for the amplification, but msrp is like $1600.00
AS far as going with liquid sound deadner. It is messy, dont get me wrong. But it sticks to any vertical surface and doesnt droop, unless you put an insane amount on for it to start to droop. The best part i found about ed's liquid deadner, was that its water soluable so clean up was so easy, just a wet rag to wipe off surfaces. My arms were covered with the stuff, and it was in my hair. In the hair is a different issue, it dried in my hair and i had to kinda roll it and try and breka it up before i tried pulling it out. Once the stuff dries then its harder to remove. If you get it on a rubber seal or anything flexible like that. it will fall off. I dropped it on my trunk seals quite a bit and it all just crumbled off when it dried.
Very easy to work with, just brush it on. oh and just make sure you get enough and also make sure you have plenty of air circulation goin on. It will dry 20 times faster

Maybe I should start up a collection...anyone want to donate to my stereo fund? Adown, thanks for the info. That amp sounds sweet.
DPG, nice pics of the car...really helps me see where you put that liquid deadener. I can see how that liquid will really get in an seal the crevices well.
