My decent system on a budget
I had this all bought and installed for under $1k:
Amp: Phoenix Gold R8.0:4
2 way components: JL Audio VR650-CSi
Sub: JL Audio 10W3v2D4 (w/ subthump box)
HU: Sony Xplod (many different models of these for various prices)
I had Bestbuy do it since I had around $450 in gift cards. They actually took their time and did it right. Took 2 days total and cost $250.
The sound is pretty good. I was thinking I may have ended up with not enough bass, but it is perfect. I need to tune it a bit more to my liking, but I am satisfied with what I have got now.
Great system for those who can't justify dropping over $1k in a car stereo
