I would like to tell my stereo story....I didn't really know much about the latest and greatest stereo stuff, until I came across some JL amps and a one amp jl set up last spring...so I started hunting for stuff...cause retail really turned me off...for 3000 your your really not gonna get much...then came ebay...sometimes very risky...but I have had really good luck dealing with sellers that have a 100% sellers history. I then started hunting on ebay regularly...and found a jl 450-4 amp...seller said it was in mint condition...I ended up buying this one for 275 bucks...after trying to buy several others. Next came an alpine 9855 head unit...I ended up buying it locally by mistake...cause I would have saved buying on ebay....paid about 400 bucks...now I start hunting for an installer...and was really turned off by a fiew guys locally here in toronto. At this point I was gonna only run this one amp...but a forum member had a jl 500-1 for sale for about 250 bucks...apparently in mint condition...so i said what the heck and sprung for it...Now for the speakers...I decided on buying the jl speakers the med end ones...but once I did the math...again ebay was half the price for higher end speakers. Bought 2 6.5" with tweets for the doors and 4" XR's for the back, and 2 JL w3's...again for less than half the price of retail on line. Here is where it got expensive...or not?? but I had a custom box made for 340 bucks...and the rest of the install , including everything for 1000 bucks...all in u.s. dollars...and fk...you gotta hear this thing...it Rocks!!!. The installers told me that very rarely do people spend the coin on stereos anymore...cause they are usually leasing their cars and giving them up after a couple of years.
I had the install done by Audio sound design in toronto...and am very happy with them and reccomend them....If I would have bought all this stuff new...I would of spent in the 6000 dollar range...sheesh!!!
