fix for C4 Bose CD Mechanism ?
I know just about everybody out there with a C4 has had problems with the CD mechanism on the Bose systems. There are several places that you can send in your head unit to get it fixed. My question is, does anyone know of a place where you can buy just the mechanism and put it in yourself, so you can have it fixed in a couple of hours.
Or even better, has anyone torn down the mechanism to see what part usually fails ? I wonder if there is something bent, or moves out of place and you can just fix it yourself without ordering a new mechanism. My experience with the new ( or rebuilt ) mechanisms is that they aren't any better because I'm on the 3rd one now, and it's out.
