I'm going to get one of Subthump's flush mount boxes for a single 10" for my C5. When picking a sub, do I want to go with a single voice coil, or a dual one? Any recomendations? Probably want to stay around $100 or so for the sub...using Crutchfield as a reference (and probably purchase from there).
With that amp I would recommend that you get a 10" sub that is dual voice coil with 2 ohms per coil (generally known as a d2). This wired in series will get you a 4 ohm load to produce your 287 watts safely without overheating your amp or baking your power supply. Couple examples:
Image Dynamics IDQ 10d2
Infinity Perfect 10 DVQ
Some here have had good success with the Pioneer line of subs, Elemental Designs have some good solid subs as well and are probably some of the better out there for the money.

Thanks. Now I have what is going to sound like a real stupid question. I'm sure the box from subthump will have one set of speaker inputs in it. If that is true, do you just run two sets of wires to the connections on the sub (meaning, two wires from the positive on the sub box with one going to each input on the sub, and the same for the negatives)?
After thinking about this, I think I see what you meant...one wire from the positive on the box to the positive on the first coil, and then another wire from coil to coil, and the same for the negative side...right?
