Suggestions for 1sa upgrade?

I told him to get a set of headphones and save his money but he wants to upgrade.
Besides deadening the doors, sealing the rear speaker enclosures, upgrading the speakers themselves, What should I be suggesting?
Is it possible to replace the BOSE amp with something with more wattage?
I would assume replacing all of the speakers and adding an amp or two would be his best bet. he wants it to retain the factory look and for the amps to be as stealth as possible.
Thanks for any links or experience you can shed my way

In my opinion, if its not loud enough he is going to need to change out H/U and speakers with a decent amp.
You can add a sub easily to the existing system, but that won't make your front stage any louder.
Adding a full system is a big undertaking yes, but it is the only way to "more" sound with the top down at highway speeds.
Its not as invasive as you would think. I didn't cut a single wire or do anything I can't put back to stock. The aftermarket harnesses let me tap into the existing Bose harness and with new speaker templates for the front doors, I can easily replace and replug my stockers if I have to sell her.
If you need any more recommendations as to a good bang for the buck system, there are a lot of good guys on here including myself that can help you put together a nice H/U, amp and speakers. Starting at ~ $1000 you could get some respectable sound that obliterates the current Bose systems.

I started near the top (Pioneer Z1) with the bluetooth, MP3 hard drive, and NAV for the my buddy's C6. His reply was "no TVs"! haha
So it sounds like something OEM looking, with more power is the route to go unless there is a clean way to tap into the factory head unit with an amp.
He is an older guy (owns a few Corvettes) so I feel certain that he won't desire a sub or any "pumpin bass".
His main requests were iPod connectivity and volume. Have gone thru half of the C6 audio FAQ. Some links are bad. Others are just going to take more time to read thru. Did sound like at least one person has replaced the rear, door, and door subs with aftermarket pieces with positive results.
Scott, if you (and the others here on the board) could toss some part information my way, Id certainly appreciate it.
Here was his morning email to me:
Rain, Thank you. Doing it right is more important than cost. Also, the installation must be clean and we should retain the factory look. When you decide what components you need, please tell me and I will start ordering and stockpiling parts. (No TV’s!) Thank you again. Al
