Daves components Install

). We got his CDT CL-61s in tonite and they sound killer, and they arent broken in at all and the system is really tuned much at all since we finished quite late. As you can see he did one hell of a deadening job on the car, I give him mad props. Running the wires was easy as hell for the most part as usual. The braxial style tweater mounting was something I would have never thought of and it worked out great we mounted the crossover right on the baffle made for an easy install (Note: Daves baffles > Gregs baffles). Also ran some new Knukonceptz RCAs they are beefy as hell. All and all it sounds extremely smooth and clean, not overbearing or harsh at all. We also did the rear speaker delete, which had gotta be good for atleast 5hp at the wheels LOL
. As always a few pics from the install. I was very impressed with how it came out as was Dave

Great job again...now get some sleep!

Even with a minor tune, the car sounds great. I am very happy with the install and would recommend at least getting a 2way to anyone who asks. The 2 ways were a huge improvment, crisper midbass, and clearer highs. I have to give Greg props for posting up these pics when he got home. I was thinking to myself, he is probably going to post pics up. Then thought, nah, its too late. I was wrong.
On to the mounts. You all know how I made my template, and I stole the idea for the tweeter mount off of CDTs website, while looking through a few of their products. I looked at one of the pics and said, hmm, i can make a bracket like that. Then while i was playing with the tweeters, said I can probably just mount this straight to the side. With the door panel on. The grill of the door panel just barely touches the tweeter. I figure since the tweeter isnt vibrating like crazy, it should be alright there. Sounds fine right now. I wanted to try the tweeters at the bottom like that so that I didnt cut any unnecessary holes. I can always add the holes later if need be and move the tweeter.
Im very happy with the quality of the RCAs from Knukonceptz. They make some good ****. I had to run a new remote power wire, as these do not come with one attached to it. No big deal, just something that I wanted to note if anyone wanted to know. I used caulk rope on the speaker mounts and between the speaker to the mount. Stuff came in a huge roll and only cost $4. The roll is more than enough. I will probably find other uses for it around the house and what not.
Am I missing anything. Let me know if you guys want any other info

oh i have the tweets set to 0db right now on the crossover, I am thinking about moving them to -3db. After listening to it this morning, i think they may be a tad high. I'll try to tune it better and see if a tune helps or not. If not, i'll just set em to the -3db setting.
i am paying for the late night now.....i am exhausted

I just had to turn the component crossovers to -3db. It was kinda harsh. I probably didnt notice it much last night half asleep. Time for more tweeking.

Greg let me borrow some coaxials so that we wouldnt have to deal with the bose crap. I still need to do some tuning, i just dont know where to go from here. I tuned it the best i can, but i can tell that its missing something

I am trying to decide what to do with the fronts in my C4..
I have Boston Acoustic 841s in there now (4" and tweet) plus a 5.25" Boston in the door.. they sound good, but I wonder if my Orion HCCA 5s would sound better then the bostons.. HMM
If I have cash I would buy CDTs

Also what type of tweeters are the (metal? Soft?)

Also what type of tweeters are the (metal? Soft?)
The mounting depth of the 6.5s is 2 1/2" and the tweeter is silk
here is the cdt site with more info

one of these days im gonna try what fej suggests as far as tunning, with the subs off and then playing at 75% of max and that whole thing.
Also what power do they need.. All I have to run them is an Orion 225 HCCA from 1992~1993
