I was looking into amps and found that Directed Elec. has bought up the companys that used to build the baddest amps around, A/D/S/,Orion,PPI. I was looking into an A/D/S PH30. Has anyone heard thier latest products. Are they still an audiophile grade amp. 5 and six channel amps are few and far between. Come on I know someone has an oppinion. Oppinion and fact are welcome.

Directed ownes PPI. The amps are as good today as they have ever been. I'm running my whole system from a ppi 1000.4. 125x2 to DLS 8" 2-way components and 500x1 into a 10" ID v.3 sub. I'm running a BA 3.5" center channel speaker from the HU.
It was rumored for the last half dozen years or so that PPI took a dip in performance. I know that I personally was not impressed with the watts that one of the new PPI's put out in an install I helped tune about a year ago or so. It could have been the application however in defense of PPI. Their amps have certainly come down in price since the old days which is an indicator in my book.
I love my Genesis Profile 5 channel amp. 4x70 at 4 ohms (and honestly it is more like 4x90) and 250x1 at 2 ohms (closer to 300 at 14 volts)
