Head unit Suggestions?
I bought my 02 with a lousy head unit installed (sorry itsmeek but it sucks) and am looking to upgrade. I recently purchased a ten inch rockford sub and an alpine v12 amp, i need a H/U that is easy to use but looks good and won't break the bank, one personal preference is that it have a volume **** not just buttons. Suggestions?

The Alpine and Eclipse (and some Clarion) heads are the leaders these days for sound/value.
If you want high end, Alpine and Eclipse go there, too, and if you want uber high end, Denon, Alpine, McIntosh and Clarion are the way to go.

So Pioneer is no good? i haven't been into stereos for a very long time. Alpine is good? i just don't really care for the appearance. Something with a nice display would be good.

Some of the higher end Pioneer stuff is ok.

The only thing that does slightly concern me is how it integrates into my dash... but that's minor.

yah, i agree with you.
my first ever aftermarket headunit was a sony when i was 16, actually looking back that may have been my best one. It was the only sony i'd ever bought but it was definetly a good deck in its day. Hmmm i might go sony.

sony looks great... but the sound falls way flat.
A buddy of mine had a Sony head in his truck... we installed an Alpine head and he just went nuts. He could not beleive how much better it sounded.

that eclipse deck that I showed you has 3 5v pre outs I think. Im very happy with my eclipse HU. Ive left myself room for upgrades in the future if I ever feel the need
