This is my install of a roady2 that took all of 25 minutes to do without any visible wires through the car.
First remove the two screws holding the far passenger taillight in place.
Then mount magnetic antennae on metal inside bumper. Then find the antennae grommet and route the wire through it.
Then remove two twist/spinning screws that hold carpet in place. Picture shows drivers side but you should remove both or just passenger. Whichever is easier for you.
Now peel back carpet and try to send wire as far as you can.
Then route the wire like the picture shows. You'll have to lift up some carpet to get wire you just sent to the front but it all comes up real easy and goes back in place.
Don't forget to remove ashtray and then send up behind where it used to be.
The only visisble wire in my install is this one.
And here is the final look.
I hope this helped people install their roady2 or any other xm that is roughly the same size/shape. If anyone has any suggestions I'd love to hear them.
No, I can not close the door as that kind of wedges the radio in place.
The reception is usually really good. I'm still working on finding the perfect spot but so far it only cuts out under bridges and a few random spots. Other than that it works great. I'd say I get reception about 90% of the time. Thanks for the compliments as well guys.
hmm, it wasn't locked for me, i wonder if it's not locked for me since i started it. If it's still locked for you could you email your write up (with dynamic links) and i'll post it for you?
Sorry I was away for a heart surgery for awhile (dad's). Sure, I'll e-mail it to you. How would you like it? I just posted it in this thread with images hosted on imageshack but I still have them all on my comp. I could send them to you if you'd like.
