Default C6 Nav upgrade amp rack completed

Custom amp rack
JL 300/2 (door subs)
JL 300/4 (front and rear)
Alpine 350 sub amp (Stealthbox)

JL Stealth Box sub for C6
Custom Leather cover by Down South Vettes (darn these guys are good!)

Doors
10in Blaupunkt thin metal subs (cut off above the JL Stealthbox)

Rear
Custom enclosed compartments with expanding foam
DLS 6 1/2, 2 ways w/ external cross over

Front
DLS 4 in w/ external crossovers

Dynamat extreame X2 in doors

Signals fed from HU by custom
PAC audio GM24 (bypassed the line level adaptor)

IPOD to GM XM as well.

Finally finished and I can still fit my luggage easily!

For me this the ultimate setup - tremendous punch and a great sound stage. Not up to DataWiz standards but as far as livability goes...

Thoughts?

Excellent! Interesting, that you went with subs in the doors and in the rear. The doors were deep enough? I suppose the 'thin subs' made it work.

I guess most of your mids are from the 6.5's in the rear? Also, did you just put in the PAC GM24 or did you have that with your prior setup as well?

I like the amp rack; looks kinda like mine, but with an extra amp!

Nice work, oh holy 'Keeper of the C6 Audio FAQs'!

Btw, I'm still waiting for my subs; I'm using a Bazooka tube in the meantime, but the guy at JL says he'll get to it eventually. He says there are other higher priority projects he's working on now (ie greater sales potential). I haven't gone crazy b/c the tube is filling in pretty well, I'm quite surprised by the punch it gives; clean and powerful.

If he doesn't get to it soon, I'm may take matters into my own hands and do a setup like Chads with 2 8" JLs in the rear.

I had the door subs and the GM 24 already installed from the previous set up. Before PAC modded the GM 24 it would not work very well with the HU so I bypassed the line level adaptor and soldered RCA jacks on to the input wires.

Using the extreame dynamat really made the doors into a very tight box but I did have to roll them off above the very deep bass. They provide enough punch to make your pants vibrate and I became very used to that . The JL Stealthbox finishes off the bottom end nicely.

The 4 in DLSs are a work of art. They provide most of the mids and highs. The 6 1/2s fill in the back sound stage and add to the upper bass.

I'd like to do tweeters like Wiz has done.

Wiz - do you leave your car out at night? Could you leave the fob handy?

In my experience (and luck) the JL guy will have time just after you finish the double 8 box! Good luck!
