Default Best Satellite Antenna Location

What would be the BEST location to mount the Sirius Satelite Antenna on a C5. I don't want it to be seen from outside the car, nor do I want any wires to be showing inside the car. Thanks for your help!

I mounted mine on the lower (towards the front of the car) part of the passenger side dash. I was more interested in a good signal than stealth. It's so small you can barely see it on the dash.

You are right about the size, and I do want good reception. However, I did see a thread once on the forum about a member who mounted it somewhere behind the tail lights and still got excellant reception. Sounds odd because I know that satellite reception in a moving vehicle can be somewhat elusive at times.

The postings here seem to say that people are having success putting them behind the taillights on the metal bumper. The fiberglass does not impede the satellite reception.

I cant speak for myself though, havent gotten to that project yet!

I mounted mine in the rear fascia, it's mounted on top of the right outside tailight with double sided tape.

How is your reception with the antenna mounted in this location?

reception is perfect.

the urethane is transparent to the satellite signal.

I mounted mine on the halo and I still lose the signal occasionally if I drive where the trees densely overhang the road. My main goal was a good signal and the antenna is small enough to not look that bad on the halo, but that's just my opinion.

Mine is between the roof and the headliner of my Z06. Great thing about fiberglass...doesn't block the signal. For Coupes, you could put it between the halo and headliner. Verts...in the rear bumper area, I guess.

I glued mine underneath the rear right fender from inside the trunk (close to the FM antenna in the vert). Works perfect.

Default Antenna Mounting Question -

After doing a search I found this thread about XM antenna mounting that I was looking for.

I mounted my antenna on the passengers side dash in front of the A-pillar. I lose signal when driving by trees.

Anyway - I'm thinking about mounting it in the rear facia like I have read about.

How do you route the antenna wire into the cabin?
Is there an easy to get to access point?

Thanks,
Jim

Center of dash immediately in front of middle vent; wire goes into vent and is not visible. Works quite good and virtually unnoticed.
