Default 2006 coupe 1SA audio. what system would recommand?

I need advice I am planning on putting in a Naviagtion system but the problem I am having is which system would look good. I had a system put in Pioneer AVH-P5700DVD. I did not like it because it blocked my air vent when the screen was up and the car would get hot. I told the Audio personal to take it out and replace it with a Pioneer AVIC-N1 but they said it would cost 450 to install I thought that was crazy because the charged me 250 to install the first and 50 to take out the P5700DVD. So I told them to put in the system. I really want a good system I was thinking about Pioneer AVIC-D2 or Eclipse AVN5435. Is it worth getting a navigation system. I live in Dallas Texas so i do need to find my way around the city and I do drive outside the state. Any information will help?

I just came back from a trip to Houston. I'm not familiar with the city AT ALL. I was able to find the museum I wanted, house that my friend was at, and even an ice cream shop with no delay and perfect directions every time. I have a navigation system in EVERY vehicle I own. Do I think it's worth it? HELL YES! I'll make some more detailed recommendations in a short while, but I'm going to San Antonio pretty soon.

I really like the Eclipse software programming, really easy to do just about anything. I have the Eclipse AVN7000 in just about every car. I would say go with either 5495 (Hard Drive) or 6600 (Dual DVD)

Another alternative is a regular Alpine screen + separate Alpine navigation (that's what's going in the vette) They have a nice double DIN that came out if you don't want to block the vent.

I don't generally recommend Pioneer navigation stuff, but this one you can make your own judgement. It's the AVIC Z1, a sort of "Wonder All-In-One" H/U....but it's got so many legal DVD retarding crap in there I never will put one in my car...but to some folks that's not important.

Anyways, those are the contenders for Double DIN in my book. Just ask if ya have any more qtns!
