Valentine 1 with the remote display. Hide the big unit right behind the rear view mirror just so the rear facing lazer is visible to the read window. Then run the remote wire to the drivers pillar and mount the remote display at the top of that pillar.
This is absolutely the best radar detector on the market IMHO. I also installed the Blinder M20 lazer jammer to combat lazer speed detection. So far lazer jamming is legal in most states where radar jamming is a crime since radio wave transmission is controlled by the FCC and there are no controlling bodies for light waves yet.
I have the Bell RX-65(it does not give nearly as many false alarms as the Valentine ). And it will pay for itself in just one month.
Go online and google it, it should come up with websites that test all the different radar detectors.
Hope i could be of some help.

There are 3 modes on the V1 to control false alarms. My belief is that I want the sensitivity and I will accept a few false alarms. The 2 big factors to the V1 are:
1) Directional alerting. Very nice feature to know where the signal is coming from. I have had Escorts for 15 years and thought the direcitonal alert was a silly sales and marketing feature. But I can tell you I am sold on this feature now. It really does work well.
2) Sensitivity. It will pick up radar from a long distance and it will give you independant reports for multiple radar sources.
I have been running an Escort 8500 for the passed 3 years on my C5Z and love it, installed the Escort right under the mirror and accessed power out of the rear view mirror for a real clean install.
But from the way it looks Valentine has had some design changes in the passed few years, I will need to bring up their site before I purchase another detector for the 07Z
I have the Escort 8500 X50 mounted just below the rear view mirror..real clean, low profile install. Dang thing works very well too, IMHO. Laser is becoming the standard for the State Police in MI so it is more and more difficult to wind her out!
